This colony of Fruit Bats is small (15,000) compared to some in S E Qld. There are two permanent species, Grey-headed and Black. The Little Red Flying Fox comes during the summer months for a short time too, then moves on. It feeds on nectar.

Small part of the Colony

Nice pics of the flying fox colony, you mentioned two species are permenant, do you know how many there are all up. I often come across some while driving up and down the bruce highway. Would they be the same as you have pictured
Anonymous :Most likely Grey-headed and Black with Little Red in season. I do know the colony you are referring to,it is quite large have not had the opportunity to count them.
