Noisy Friarbird

This Noisy Friarbird came into our Grevillea Robyn Gordon this morning. This particular Grevillea always has flowers at different stages, so the Honeyeaters always have some flowers to choose from all year round.

Interesting. It has kind of a turkey vulture like head on a large sparrow-like body. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting-looking bird. Is it really noisy?

Yes Red we agree with your comments nice to have them around though.

Yes Bob and Cynthia especially when in a large group their call is a harsh cackle.

Very interesting bird Neil. I have never heard of this species but according to Wikipedia, they eat nectar, insects and other invertebrates, flowers, fruit and seeds.

They remind me of a small vulture too with the black, naked looking head.

How is it going down there with the fires?

What I like about the leatherhead, Neil, is their comical calls, always good for a laugh.
