One of my favourite birds to visit our garden on a regular basis is the Grey-crowned Babbler. Guaranteed to keep you entertained with their constant games and antics as they call to one another. We are lucky to have them in our area as their numbers have declined in other parts of the country. Last year we had five birds coming to our bird bath, the other day we had eight trying to get in the bird bath at the same time.

Very nice!
Nice shots Neil! They do look very entertaining. Sorry to hear that they're numbers are declining.
You are lucky to have the Grey-crowned Babbler in your yard Neil! I hope conservation efforts in Australia are successful in saving the habitat necessary to keep this bird from further decline.
Great photos of a very cool looking insectivore!
Thanks Mick, Alan and Larry We hope their efforts are successful as well. It would be a shame to lose another of our birds.
I really do love seeing different kinds of birds....A find the name 'babbler' rather amusing...Michelle
Thanks Michelle for your comments.
Nice shots to get them foraging.
Thanks Arija they are fun to watch even when they attack the bark and spread it on the lawn.
Interesting birds, Neil! Your photos really caught their antics very well.
I envy you and Mick to have all those lovely birds come to your yards.

Interesting birds you have in your parts. Thanks for the id for the brown bird in my blog post.
Thanks Madahmas. We do have a large variety of birds visiting our garden it helps that the garden is now 26 years old. Glad we could help out with the ID.
Lovely series of these friendly babbling babblers, Neil.
