Amamoor Homestead B&B

This post is for Wild Bird Wednesday.
It was nice to be able to just sit and watch all the birds doing their own thing. Fan-tailed Cuckoo catching food on the lawn outside the cottage, Grey Fantail guarding the bird bath.

 Fan-tailed Cuckoo (Cacomantis flabelliformis)

Grey Fantail (Rhipidura albiscapa)

 Little Shrike-thrush (Colluricincla megarhyncha)
The Little Shrike-thrush showed itself for a short time, unlike the Fairy-Wren which was part of a family moving through one of the gardens.

 Red-backed Fairy-Wren (Malurus melanocephalus) (Female)

Cicadabird (Coracina tenuirostris) (Immature)
I had to keep following this immature Cicadabird along the fence line until it stayed in one place long enough for a photo.

You are seeing and photographing a really great variety of bush birds where you are visiting. I might even have to coax you down to see shorebirds again!

I like that you include the Latin names as well as the common ones. If I ever get well-organized about it.

I only know the cuckoo so I've enjoyed your series!
I really like the background template of your blog. :)

Thanks for having paid a visit to my WBW.

these are all such wonderful birds we don't have here. we have a yellow-billed cuckoo similar to the one you showed, but the others are all different. that fairy wren is just so cute!

enjoyed this series and it seems you stay at B & B's in the best birding locations. I guess some are more bird-friendly than others. Lovely photographs

Nice shots of all the birds Neil. Those Fairy Wrens always put a smile on my face. Seeing one of those in real life is on my bucket list!

So many of your birds are new to me Neil.
Varied Triller not only sounds like something I would like to see but also looks the part.

Such a nice variety of subjects. I've never seen a fan tailed cuckoo before, thanks for sharing it with us.

What a great series of images! So many lovely little birds. I'd love to visit a place like that and to capture so many great birds in one place!!

Absolutely beautiful images!!!! Each and every one.

beautiful captures...I like 'em all, but I think the name of the 'red backed fairy wren' is just so fitting for the species.

Wonderful yard birds! Thank you for sharing! I agree it is wonderful to sit and watch birds doing their thing -- I love that too. But "my" birds are less exotic.

nice set of birds. It sounds so nice sitting there looking at birds. It is hard to understand such places exist.
