Cedar Grove camping ground is a great place to stay and see lots of birds, 54 species over 2 days in September.We had Green Catbird and Wompoo Fruit-Dove in the trees near our camp site. Other birds of note were Paradise Riflebird,Bassian Thrush, Noisy Pitta and a Powerful Owl calling in the early morning.

As we were walking along the rainforest track I heard a rustle in the leaf litter. Upon further inspection found this pair of Bassian Thrush, (Adult with Juvenile). They kept moving along the track in front of us. After a little way they moved down to the edge of the creek out in the open. A lot easier to photograph them there than in the rainforest.

A very impressive series of birds and an even more impressive series of photos of the flood debris along the creek. All the birds are beautiful but I especially like the way you have caught that Brush Turkey swinging its yellow wattle!

Wow, what a great swag of birds you bagged! I envy you the shot of the fantail cuckoo, I've not managed to land one yet although I had them on the farm this year, they are so elusive. Terrific shots of the bush turkey, especially the grey action in the first one.
I had a golden whistler hanging around the house early in spring but could not manage a shot., all part of the fu of bird watching.

Great photos. My students think it is funny when you point out a brush turkey, it is never quite what they are expecting.
