Mothar Mountain

Mothar Mountain Rock Pools is only a short drive from Gympie. On a hot day it is a very popular spot for a swim or picnic, or you can go for a walk through the rainforest as we did. It always amazes me when people go for a walk; what do they see around them, or is it just getting from start to finish is all that matters? As I was taking the photo of the orchid people walked past and one of the children said "what are they doing?" only to be told by one of the adults, "looks like they are looking for something on the ground", and kept on walking.

Some of the things we saw on the walk, enjoy

No shortage of rocks in the creek.

Great photos of a very beautiful place. It's really wonderful how many different habitats we have so close to home.

Thanks Mick we are lucky to be that close to the bush and the beach.

Walking for walking's sake. Never did understand that pursuit. much better to take in and enjoy the natural world as you did Neil. Even better to make a photographic record of it.

Beautiful photos! The forest is gorgeous and there is so much to see if you only slow down and look around a little.

...and they miss all the beauty that surround them. You've proved that with all the awesome photos. That bird, I wish we had them in the USA...alas.

HI Neil Well that was a wonderful place to have a walk and you photographs some very interesting material. Some people miss so much on their walks, never seeing the beauty of nature. I rarely walk without my camera with me.

Sad for them because your photos show it was a wonderful place to see the wonders of nature. The rock pool is lovely and the fir like abstract art. Best to enjoy a walk in nature otherwise stay at the gym. :)

The strangling fig looks very pretty. Hmmm. I feel sad for people who are in such a hurry that they miss so much. And they have no clue what they are missing.

So beautiful! It must be so nice to walk with all that greenery surrounding you. I've never seen that orchid, but I can see how it got it's name. The little guy is lifting his hands in the air.
