Great Egret

 Great Egret (Ardea alba)

Tall, graceful, long legs.
 Well, almost.

Let me just get the feathers in the right place
 Almost done.
There is always one that won't sit down.
 Getting ready to take off.

 Perfect landing.

Beautiful images!!! The white birds I find are difficult to have their photos turn out very good...yours, on the other hand, are terrific.

The last shot has great face detail. I'm glad egrets get to keep their beautiful plumage these days.

So beautiful (even when that one feather just will not behave!) -- absolutely love the take-off shot. I know how patient you had to be to get these pictures, unless you have the best luck in timing of anyone ever. Those beautiful birds can sit absolutely still for hours before they give you any action! Thank you for sharing.

This are great - if at times a little gangly - birds!

A gorgeous bird. I saw two in Viikki a week ago, but they were quite far away.

I never tire of taking and looking at egret photos. Yes, there is often that little stain or misplaced feather, but the imperfect sometimes emphasizes the beauty of the whole.
