Birds in Black

Just a few of our "Black" Birds. Torresian Crow, Spangled Drongo and Common Koel. Have also added a short video of the Koel calling in our Silky Oak tree. I apologise for any car noise in the video as we are close to a road. Calls of the Rainbow Lorikeet, Magpie-lark and Spotted Turtle-dove may also be heard as well.

    I like the koel call which I'm used to hearing. the pitch goes higher and higher for each coo and it is quite clear above the traffic noise.

    I was surprised at the way the crow looks so much like our Grackle. Our crows look more like a European Raven maybe larger. Nice post.

    Interesting post and the calls on the black birds, the photos look similiar to the black birds found here.
