Tawny Frogmouth

It pays to come home late on some nights. Found this Tawny Frogmouth sitting on the post that holds up a shade sail beside our house. I was able to get very close to this bird as it just sat there and looked at me.

  12. Doesn't look like he has any intention of letting you chase him away - just the opposite, perhaps.

Great bird, and the photos is so clear and steady for being taken late and in the dark.

  14. Super shots of the Tawny Frogmouth Neil! What a cool looking bird. I hear they are easy to miss out in the woods as they look just like the tree!

  18. Great shots! For all of their strangeness, I've always thought frogmouths are kind of pretty. They have beautifully patterned feathers.
