Kayak Mullens

What a great day to be on the water, with a friend to share the time with. And the birds were pretty good too, at least 1800.

Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica)
Greater Sand Plover (Charadrius leschenaultii)
Red-capped Plover (Charadrius ruficapillus)
Lesser Sand Plover (Charadrius mongolus)

For more birds visit Wild Bird Wednesday.

  2. Very impressed by your plovers. The Red-capped Plover is especially attractive. How wonderful to be out on the water to see all this!

  6. Oh so beautiful. As you might guess, I am deeply impressed with your ID skills. And also as you might guess I could happily spend a day or ten at that beach! Many thanks.

  8. Oh...great outing.

You won't believe this, but two years ago, IN TEXAS, USA, we had a bar tailed godwit visit us nearby. It was a favorite for most birders if we were lucky enough to find the European visitor!!!

  10. Very nice images and videos. I need to organise a trip into your neck of the woods to see some of these waders.

  11. Spectacular! What a wonderful trip you took us on! That area looks much like some of our coastal locations. Nice group of birds.
