If you are looking for a nice quiet place to spend time in the bush don't go here. On the other hand if you want to see Bell Miner, (commonly called Bellbirds), and hear their beautiful call, this is the place to be. This Feature Protection Area is between Brooloo and Imbil in the Mary Valley.

the bell miners are very vocal; even when driving along somewhere you will always recognize the bell miner calls in the same location each time; windows up even. Enjoyed the little video too
Very lovely birds.
I hear what you mean Neil. Very tropical sounds indeed.
the upside-down one made me laugh out loud!
Great photos of the birds.
Regards, Irma
That is a great place to visit and the birds came much closer to you than they ever did to me. I love the sounds on the video.
I like the way it hangs upside down. It thinks it's a gymnast.
Sounds like a wonderful plce to me!

He seems comfortable hanging upside down.
Wonderful post on the miner Neil.
I like peace and quiet, but, Oh, this isn't noise, it's music with a tropical beat. What funny birds.
Cute upside down shot! I enjoyed the hearing the bird song!
Its a long time since I heard them last. Before Melbourne was covered by concrete, they used to sing in the valleys of the eastern suburbs.
thank you for this reminder of what once was.
what a lovely sound they have. Loved it. Would have been nice to hear it for real. Great shots in harsh conditions. .)
