Mullen's Bush Birds

There is more to Mullen's Picnic Area and Cooloola Foreshores than just Waders if one takes the time to look around the area. Here are some of the Bush Birds to be seen.

A small watercourse flowing into the bay.

Leaden Flycatcher (Myiagra rubecula)(Male)

Olive-backed Oriole (Oriolus sagittatus) (Juvenile)

Peaceful Dove (Geopelia placida (striata))

Rainbow Bee-eater  (Merops ornatus)

Rufous Whistler (Pachycephala rufiventris) (Male)

It was wonderful to take a look at some of your bush birds.
Enjoyed comparing your dove to ours. I like this feather pattern.
My favorite of your shots is the rainbow bee-eater - pretty bird, lovely shot!

See what you mean Neil. It looks a likely spot for birding and I really like that unusual looking dove.

That leaden flycatcher...what glorious colors!! I'm sure we don't have them here, in USA. Wishing we did tho.

Loved all your shots, but that bee-eater is very striking, and you captured the iridescence of the flycatcher. Thank you for stopping by my blog while I was away in Arizona for a couple of weeks.
