Ah, kingfishers --- so gorgeous and so uncooperative. They sit still for ages, then once the camera comes out ... Good catch, esp the action shot!

Nice post. The line of beach at 'Straddy' looks great - but also a bit eroded - is that right?
Very much so most of it is taller than I am, and when you are in a 4WD you still have to look up to see the Raptors sitting on the dunes.
Great images of a lovely Kingfisher. Well done.

Aren't they just wonderful birds? We saw them feasting on tiny crabs on Rainbow Beach.

He is a gorgeous bird...the name definitely fits! I've never been able to capture a nice photo of a kingfisher. They just seem to know when that shutter is about to click...
