This Intermediate Egret was hunting for a meal at our local pond. Hard going for the size and density of the Water Lily pads, but not impossible as the last photo shows.

What an amazing series. It's amazing to watch them walk on the lily pads like that! Glad it made a successful catch!
Very nice indeed to get one with the fish in its beak.
Thanks Wren, Heather, and Mick for your comments.
...wow.....a very pretty bird set off by those huge lily pads! Wonderful series and a great catch (for you and him!).
Thanks Kelly it was a good catch.
Great captures of the Intermediate Egret Neil! It looks alot like our Great Egret in the states.
That last shot with the bird in the "recoil" position and the fish in beak, set against the lily pads is amazing.
Thanks Larry, in the right spot at the right time.
Great fisherman. I love to watch the herons here stalking the water... Michelle
Very nice photos Neil! Looks the the Great Egret we see here in Maine.
Thanks Michelle and Maine we also have a Great Egret here.
Beautiful setting ... all the shades of green ... the white white of the Egret ... engaged in its environment... Your photos are stunning!
Thanks Carol for your comments.
